Position

As a joint director of the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) Mental Health Services, you will work in partnership with the Clinical Director Mental Health to provide strategic and operational leadership, governance and direction for nursing services within Mental Health Services. Utilising your wealth of clinical knowledge and experience, you will be responsible for leading the development and ensuring the effectiveness of systems to support, evaluate and continuously improve nursing practice, patient care and healthy work environments.

As a Service Co-Director, you will be jointly responsible for the development of service plans and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), along with the management of a significant Services budget within delegations of authority. A key driver for the work performed over the next three years will be realignment of services to support the new Royal Adelaide Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Glenside Campus and Community services in line with the SA Health Care Plan, as well as facilitating the State’s Mental Health reform agenda.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. In addition, you will have postgraduate qualifications in nursing, health services management, health administration or human services. With demonstrated extensive experience at a senior management level in a health care organisation, you will be skilled in mental health practice and in managing and leading complex projects through to deployment and evaluation. Your success in this role will be determined by your ability to articulate a vision, and engage and unify the nursing community across an Area Health Service.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
