About us

At Murrumbidgee Local Health District we provide a range of public health services to the Riverina and Murray regions of NSW, across a geographic area of approximately 125,561 square kilometres.  With around 240,724 residents living within our District, we employ around 4,000 staff who work in our 31 Facilities, including a Rural Referral Hospital, Base and District Hospitals, Multi-Purpose Services and Community Health Facilities.

About the role

The Nurse Manager Workforce and Leadership is a key role within our district and will work very closely with the Executive Director Nursing, as well as all Midwifery and Nursing Management Teams.  The key focus is to work together in the consultation, development, implementation and evaluation of strategies to ensure the nursing and midwifery workforce needs are met to ensure patient safety.

The Nurse Manager Workforce and Leadership will act as the Deputy to the Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery and provide relief as required.  For further details, please refer to the position description

What we are looking for

  • Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with relevant tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in health management; education; health policy and planning; business or associated fields.
  • Demonstrated advanced communication skills together with the capacity to interact with and influence health professionals.
  • Significant experience in Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Management, with a demonstrated record of achievement in management of human and financial resources.
  • Demonstrated experience in Nursing & Midwifery Leadership roles that include change management, conflict resolution and motivational team development.
  • Significant experience in Workforce Recruitment, with a focus on leadership and developing innovative strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in ensuring Professional Nursing & Midwifery Practice that includes observance of legislative and policy requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with industrial matters, complaints and grievance management at organisational and facility level.
