We are seeking motivated and reliable Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses staff to contribute to the delivery of quality, individualised nursing care to residents of the Northgate House.

Working with people experiencing behavioural and psychological systems of dementia and potentially mental health illness is a highly skilled rewarding and dynamic career pathway.

Addressing residents’ complex care needs, you will ensure support and comfort is made available to all residents to achieve an optimal level of independence. This will involve providing and coordinating comprehensive contemporary assessment, care planning and evaluation practices, ensuring the rights of individuals and groups in relation to health care that is focused on health promotion, restorative care, preventing avoidable functional decline and supporting privacy and individual choice.

It is expected that you will work collaboratively with other staff to identify and improve the nursing, personal care and lifestyle/activity needs of residents with a focus on positive ageing, healthy ageing and wellbeing. At all times you will practice in line with professional and ethical nursing practice and the Aged Care Act, and ensure Duty of Care is exercised in the performance of duties.  

For appointment as an Assistant in Nursing, you will be enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing, and have completed any training relevant to the safe and competent performance of work at this level. For appointment as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse, you will need to be enrolled or registered by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold a current practicing certificate. Creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a mental healthcare setting, you must be responsive to residents’ needs and willing to advocate when necessary. 

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
