Job Description

You will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated range of evidence-based, recovery-oriented mental health services appropriate to the needs of consumers and the local community in the Adelaide Hills. Assessing consumers’ needs, you will plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery options and communicate changes in condition and care. You will also monitor consumer care plans and participate in clinical auditing and evaluative research to ensure appropriate consumer care outcomes are achieved on a daily basis.

As part of your role, you will provide specific support to the Clinical Service Coordinator in the leadership of nurses within the mental health service. Accepting accountability for your own practice standards, you will oversee activities delegated to others and contribute to the guidance and development of less experienced staff. 

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must be enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or hold a qualification in Mental Health practice. With demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting. Past experience in management and leadership roles in a multidisciplinary team will be ideal, including the leadership, supervision and direction of student nurses, Enrolled Nurses and less experienced Registered Nurses/clinicians. Your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills will equip you to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
