We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high quality care to patients and residents of the Snowtown Hospital. You will be responsible for undertaking direct care of residents within the Aged Care area, as well as caring for patients within the Hospital and Accident and Emergency Department. As well as supervising Enrolled Nurses and carers, you will contribute to the after-hours coordination of the hospital and aged care area. Enjoying a great variety of nursing activities, you will have the opportunity to participate in community as well as centre-based programs.
Snowtown Hospital and Health Services is part of the Yorke and Northern Rural Region. Our hospital is a 31 bed complex, with three beds for people receiving active medical treatment and 28 aged care beds. We have inpatient care in general medicine for adults and children, as well as palliative care. Snowtown offers a pleasant small town lifestyle within 90 minutes of the city of Adelaide, and is home to an enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Recent experience in aged care, general medical and accident and emergency nursing will go hand in hand with your track record of working in a rural and remote setting, preferably within outback South Australia. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible and possess excellent communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check.
