You will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated range of evidence-based, recovery-oriented services across the multidisciplinary Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network Mental Health Service. Providing services appropriate to the needs of consumers, you will contribute to the delivery of integrated clinical mental health care within acute Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and Inpatient service settings. Working with individuals where there are multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds, you will recognise and respond to clinical deterioration or other incidents and escalate appropriately. You will be working under the direction and supervision of an experienced clinician within the region. At all times you will retain responsibility for your actions and be accountable for providing appropriate mental health care. Engaging with consumers to provide person-centred care, you will assist other members of the health care team, including overseeing the work of students.

You will be enrolled or eligible for enrolment as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. This will be supported by experience, within the boundaries of your education and skill preparation, in the provision of mental health nursing care in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice. You will bring the ability to use modern digital and mobile technology and to document information clearly and accurately. Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills will be essential. Along with an ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information, you will demonstrate empathy and understanding with people suffering from a mental illness.
