We are seeking Registered and Enrolled Nurses to join the motivated and professional team of staff in the Emergency Department.

  • Indicative Total Remuneration: $64,313 – $72,394 (pro rata) – ENC; $69,295 – $77,730 (pro rata) – END; $75,207 – $102,617 (pro rata) – RN/RM1 – Multiple positions: Temp F/T & P/T (various part-time hours available over a 7-day roster, up to 2/12/2022)

Mount Barker District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is seeking Registered and Enrolled Nurses to join the motivated and professional team of staff in the Emergency Department. Assessing individual patient needs, you will plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will monitor patients’ condition, recognising and responding to clinical deterioration or other incidents and escalating appropriately. If appointed as a Registered Nurse it is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing care. Mount Barker District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to specialist surgical, obstetrics and outpatients. We provide pre-birth care, antenatal care with Obstetricians, GP/Obstetricians and Midwives through pregnancy continuum, offering labour and birth from 37 weeks gestation with a 24-hour Emergency Department.

You will need to be enrolled or registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. This will include the ability to engage with Aboriginal community/consumers in a culturally appropriate manner and willingness to undertake further training in this area. You will be able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, demonstrating flexibility when approaching issues within an Emergency Department setting.
