Join Our Team as a Mental Health Clinician – Clinical Nurse

As a Mental Health Clinician – Clinical Nurse, you’ll deliver nursing and midwifery services across a variety of health settings, enhancing your expertise as you grow from a competent to a proficient practitioner.

You’ll take responsibility for your practice standards, oversee delegated activities, and support the development of less experienced staff. While your focus will remain predominantly clinical, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in portfolio responsibilities that align with your career development goals, as discussed during your performance reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide proficient, person-centered clinical nursing care and case management to patients/clients, monitoring care plans to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Oversee nursing/midwifery care within your team, assessing clients in a multidisciplinary setting and implementing therapeutic interventions as needed.
  • Assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager with management, clinical, and educational activities while planning and coordinating services across disciplines.
  • Resolve local nursing/midwifery care issues and support change management processes.
  • Contribute to complex organizational projects, including clinical protocols and process mapping.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Must have registration or eligibility for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, including a current practicing certificate.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification in mental health practice.
  • At least 3 years of full-time equivalent post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing practice, adhering to the appropriate standards.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.
