About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse at Ceduna District Health Services, you will play a vital role in providing direct, person-centred nursing and midwifery services. This position is ideal for nurses looking to advance their practice, develop professionally, and contribute to the community through compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing/midwifery care to patients/clients, with increasing autonomy over time.
  • Assess individual patient/client needs, and plan, implement, and coordinate service delivery in collaboration with other disciplines and agencies.
  • Provide health promotion, education, and support to patients, groups, and carers to enhance health outcomes.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and support nursing practice through clinical placements, orientation for new staff, and preceptorship of graduates.

Applicants must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

The Ceduna District Health Services is run by the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network and includes Ceduna Hospital. Ceduna Hospital has 15 inpatient beds and provides services including emergency, surgical, general medicine, birthing, renal dialysis, diagnostic radiology and outpatients. There are also residential aged care services provided within the hospital, at the Kuhlmann Wing and Ceduna Senior Citizens Village. There is also a GP family practice, Community Health services, Allied Health services, and Child, Adolescent and Adult Mental Health services offered on the hospital site.
