You will assist with the provision of professional high quality person-centred care to women in the Roxby Downs region, striving to improve health outcomes in the community. You will also support local GPs and the visiting Obstetrician. Assessing individual women’s needs, you will plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual women or groups. It is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced Nurses and Midwives and other workers providing basic nursing care. Roxby Downs Health Service offers a great team environment and supportive management within a close-knit community. We are situated approximately 250kms north of Port Augusta and have an accident and emergency service and general medical services as well as regular visits by a range of providers of health services.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in nursing and midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a community health setting.
This is a part time vacancy, working 38 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
