We have an exciting opportunity for a Caseload Midwife to join our Midwifery Group Practice based at Ceduna District Health Service. Caseload Midwives practice autonomously within a multidisciplinary team to provide midwifery continuity of care in a remote health service setting. The Caseload Midwife provides direct clinical care to maternity consumers as well as clinical support and education to other team members.
You will carry a caseload and provide midwifery continuity of antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care within a small remote midwifery service both in the community and health service setting. Midwives are supported by the MUM / AMUM and have the opportunity to further develop as an autonomous practitioner, become involved with the aboriginal community and further develop community engagement skills. An employee at this level accepts accountability for his or her own standards of midwifery care and for activities delegated to them and works alongside the AMIC Practitioner to support Aboriginal women in his/ her care.
The Caseload Midwife, in collaboration with Clinical Midwives and the Midwifery Unit Manager, coordinates and provides continuity of midwifery care to a defined caseload of women, using primary health care principles and a problem-solving approach across the childbirth continuum.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate; or registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
This is a part time vacancy, working 60.8 hours per fortnight over a 7 day roster and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
