Using your clinical knowledge and experience, you will provide the pivotal coordination of patient care delivery at Cowell MPS. The main focus of your role will be the line management, coordination and leadership of nursing and multidisciplinary team activities to achieve continuity and quality of patient care and outcomes. Using available information systems to inform decision making, implement and coordinate processes for quality improvement, you will change local processes and practices in accordance with emerging service needs, care evaluation results, identified imminent systems problems, and coordination of local activities with corporate systems. You will also develop and maintain a learning environment within the Health Service, taking a coaching approach to team development, individual capability development and performance development.
The Cowell Campus is part of the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network. This 20 bed hospital provides acute and aged care. We serve the District Council area of Franklin Harbour and the surrounding rural community. We also have a 10 room hostel for people requiring a low level of care adjoining the main hospital. At Cowell MPS, we have a dedicated team who are compassionate, caring and highly professional individuals. Our staff members and volunteers play an integral role in the health and wellbeing of residents by providing companionship and support and encouraging independence. We know that maintaining the link between family, friends and the local community enriches the quality of life of our care recipients.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate, and atleast 3 years post registration experience. With prior experience in management and leadership roles, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses and or midwifes. You will use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
