Creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics and beyond, through education and research that makes a difference locally, and globally, James Cook University (JCU) is now looking to appoint a Senior Lecturer, Nursing and Midwifery.  This is a full-time continuing opportunity and is based in Mackay.

James Cook University (JCU) Nursing and Midwifery, working in partnership with communities, has a strong mandate to undertake nursing and midwifery teaching and research that makes a difference to the health and wellbeing of people in regional, rural and remote communities.  A vibrant learning culture fosters highly skilled and knowledgeable graduates. With an emphasis on authentic learning, compassionate care, support to succeed and cultivation of curiosity, JCU Nursing and Midwifery students develop the confidence and experience to be valuable healthcare professionals.

WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLE 
Based at our state-of-the-art clinical teaching facilities in Mackay, you will contribute to developing, coordinating and delivering Nursing curriculum and provide innovative learning activities and assessments that facilitate engaged learning experiences for a diverse range of students. You will conduct face-to-face and online lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, seminars and clinical sessions, and will also play a major role in scholarship and research activities.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE 
With a postgraduate qualification and current nursing registration in Division 1 with AHPRA, you can demonstrate leadership in learning, teaching and curriculum development with a flexible, blended and online approach. A demonstrated ability to identify and address issues unique to tropical, regional, remote, rural and Indigenous nursing education along with effective communication skills and a track record of research and publications are essential for success in this rewarding role.
