· This position is accountable for managing the operational and clinical performance of the rural hinterland facilities. It provides professional leadership and management to the Moranbah Hospital and associates services and high-level leadership and governance across all three rural hinterland sites (Moranbah, Clermont and Dysart).
· To provide expertise in clinical management, risk management, financial management, consumer and stakeholder engagement, leading and contributing to the strategic and operational planning and decision making process within Moranbah Hospital, the Hinterland sites and the overall Mackay Hospital and Health Service.
· To provide professional expertise and executive leadership for the overall planning, coordination, formulation and direction of policies relating to the provision of evidence based clinical care, development of partnership models, clinical governance and strategies to support research and education within the hinterland portfolio including Moranbah, Clermont and Dysart.
· To actively participate in the MHHS Nursing Executive team and provide professional leadership and expertise to support the Strategic Plan 2022-2024..
The Rural Hinterland facilities include Moranbah, Dysart and Clermont all of which are located south-west of Mackay.
This position has direct responsibility for the facility management of Moranbah Hospital including community health services and Glenden Primary health Care Centre. The Moranbah Hospital has a 12-bed acute inpatient facility and an emergency service. In addition, specialist outpatients, medical imaging (x-ray and ultrasound), a range of Telehealth services and ambulatory care, including mental health, allied health, community, and child health services are provided through these health facilities. It offers Nurses the opportunity to experience a diverse range of clinical practice areas in a busy rural setting.
The position also has the responsibility for providing senior leadership and governance to the Director of Nursing/ Facility Managers at both Clermont and Dysart facilities. Clermont is a 32-bed Multi-Purpose Health Service which includes a 22-bed aged care service, and 10 acute beds and Dysart is a smaller rural facility with 9 acute beds.
