Are you a self-motivated and innovative Registered Nurse seeking an exciting and challenging opportunity? Look no further than the Part-time, Ongoing position as a Registered Nurse Operating Theatre at SA Health’s Angaston Hospital, part of the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (LHN).
Situated in the picturesque Barossa region, you’ll be working in a busy Theatre environment that caters to visiting surgeons specialising in Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynaecology, Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Plastics, and General Surgery. With a focus on Day Surgery, the Theatre operates three to four days per week, offering a diverse and rewarding experience.
In this role, you’ll leverage your excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across the board, assisting in the provision of professional, high-quality patient care within the Operating Room setting. Your duties will encompass assessing patients’ needs, planning, implementing, and coordinating appropriate service delivery options, communicating changes in condition and care, monitoring client care plans, and participating in clinical auditing and evaluative research, all aimed at improving patient health outcomes.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. This will be supported by demonstrated competence in peri-operative nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, specifically anaesthetics, recovery, scrubbing and scouting skills, endoscopy reprocessing, pre and post operative surgery and day surgery. A team player with the demonstrated ability to think on your feet and work within changing environments, you will bring a proven track record in working effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills will be essential.

Angaston is a 25 bed acute facility offering a 24hr Emergency Service and Surgical Services to the local and regional community. The Hospital offers care to Medical, Surgical, Palliative Care, Transitional Care, Mental Health, and Paediatric patients. Nurses working at Angaston will experience a diverse range of patients and be involved in the care of those presenting to Emergency, Outpatients, as well as those in the Acute setting. Surgical Services are predominantly Day Surgery with a broad range of visiting specialties including Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, General Surgery, Plastics, Urology, Ophthalmology and Gastroenterology.
