Overview
The Registered Nurse will contribute to the delivery of high quality person centred care to patients and residents at the Gumeracha District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. You will provide direct nursing care to Acute, Aged Care and Transition Care Package (TCP) patients, as well as contributing to the effective management of Accident and Emergency presentations. It is expected that you will have responsibility for after-hours management of the hospital, and contribute to the supervision and mentoring of Enrolled Nurses, Direct Care Attendants and Student Nurses.

Gumeracha District Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is a small quaint hospital serving the Torrens Valley and Onkaparinga Wards of the Adelaide Hill Council Area. The hospital provides services in acute medical, aged care and primary health care and is in close proximity to Mt Barker or Gawler with a travel time just over half an hour.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a country health setting.
