About the role:

You will use your clinical knowledge and experience to provide the pivotal coordination of aged care delivery within the Kangaroo Island Health Service. The main focus of your role will be the line management, coordination and leadership of nursing and allied health team activities to achieve continuity and quality of client care and outcomes. You will accept accountability for the outcomes of nursing and multidisciplinary care outcomes in the aged care setting, addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy. You will also play a key role in developing team performance and a positive work culture in the interest of client outcomes. In managing aged care service delivery you will utilise available information systems to inform decision making, implement and coordinate processes for quality improvement, monitor and analyse incidents and accidents, ensure quality and safety is not compromised, evaluate outcomes and convey information to staff.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With prior experience in management and leadership roles, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, Enrolled Nurses and less experienced Registered Nurses. You will use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems. You will demonstrate a commitment to reviewing and improving models of care to be person and family-centred.
