About the role:

You will assist with the provision of professional high quality patient care within the Kangaroo Island Health Service. Striving to improve patient health outcomes, you will contribute to ensuring continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent. As part of your role, you will provide shift by shift leadership in the delivery of nursing/midwifery care within the health service and facilitate patient flow. Make a real difference and feel like an important part of the community. Kangaroo Island Health Service provides acute services ranging from in-hospital care for adults and children by local general practitioners to specialist surgical, obstetrics, and outpatients. We offer accident and emergency services, acute inpatient and outpatient services and long stay nursing home accommodation.

You will need to be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. You will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting.
