Overview

We have an exciting opportunity at Gawler Health Service, for a Registered Nurse/Midwife to join our dedicated theatre team in providing direct person centred nursing/midwifery care to patients undergoing surgical and diagnostic operative procedures in the Operating Theatres, Recovery, Anaesthetic areas, Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA).

The Registered Nurse – Theatre is a multi skilled Perioperative Registered Nurse specialising in scrub, scout, anaesthetics, recovery and day surgery.

Duties may include assessing individual patient needs, planning, implementing or coordinating appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options and planning and coordinating services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs.

Eligibility

All applicants must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who hold or is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.

The successful applicant will have the ability to participate in the on-call after hours theatre roster and will need to be living reasonably close to Gawler Hospital to fulfil roster duties. We are looking for kind and friendly nurses to complement our small perioperative team.
