Role Overview:

As a Registered Nurse at Ceduna District Health Services, you will:

  • Provide high-quality nursing and/or midwifery services by assessing individual patient/client needs and coordinating appropriate care.
  • Implement and manage care plans, collaborating with other disciplines or agencies as needed.
  • Deliver evidence-based care across a 24/7, 7-day roster, ensuring continuity of care and adherence to professional standards.
  • Develop your clinical skills and stay current with professional practices and quality management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate patient/client needs to deliver personalised and effective care.
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate care delivery from a range of options, working with multidisciplinary teams as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of professional standards and quality management practices.
  • Provide compassionate and evidence-based care in accordance with organisational policies.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment, working effectively within a 24/7 roster system.

What We’re Looking For:

  • You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrating sound knowledge and an understanding of the role of the Registered Nurse within a health care setting, you will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • You will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a health care setting, displaying a commitment to providing consumer and family-centred care.
  • Strong communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Experience in the use of computer packages eg Microsoft, Excel

The Ceduna District Health Services is run by the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network and includes Ceduna Hospital. Ceduna Hospital has 15 inpatient beds and provides services including emergency, surgical, general medicine, birthing, renal dialysis, diagnostic radiology and outpatients. There are also residential aged care services provided within the hospital, at the Kuhlmann Wing and Ceduna Senior Citizens Village. There is also a GP family practice, Community Health services, Allied Health services, and Child, Adolescent and Adult Mental Health services offered on the hospital site.
