The Practice Nurse Clinical is responsible for the provision of advanced nursing services in the practice setting.

The Practice Nurse Clinical uses a primary health care approach to identify and implement health promotion strategies, including illness prevention, health education, counselling, and advocacy in the practice setting.

The Practice Nurse Clinical monitors, promotes and fosters a culture centered on customer services, and a team approach to work practices and work operations. He/she facilitates staff development, client teaching and nursing research with a focus towards the maintenance of contemporary best practice.

The Practice Nurse Clinical role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however employees are assigned appropriate portfolios. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities should be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.

Work at this level is undertaken by employees with at least 3 years post registration experience.

Provide nursing services in a practice setting which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners.

Accepts accountability for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff.

Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.

This is a part time vacancy, working 64 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
