On offer is a great opportunity for a Registered Nurse to experience drive in/drive out rural and remote nursing in the community focused town of Kimba. You’ll have the chance to work in a beautiful rural setting while being part of a team dedicated to improving the health and well-being of our local residents.
As a Registered Nurse, your primary role will be to assess individual patient needs and plan, implement and/or coordinate appropriate service providing a direct person-centred nursing/midwifery care. In rural and remote nursing you work with children, youth, women and their families with diverse cultural backgrounds and multiple complexities.
Employees in this role have the opportunity to work on a drive in/drive out basis within South Australia. The roster consists of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. This opportunity offers exceptional work life balance. There are additional monetary incentives in addition to the base salary consisting of the following:
- Regional and Remote Zone and Locality Allowance – Zone 4
- Professional Development Allowance
- Paid intrastate travel along with accommodation provision in Kimba
- Travel reimbursement
- Daily meal allowance
- 4 weeks annual paid recreation leave

About Kimba
Kimba, once named ‘the kindest place in Australia and best remote area to live’, has a community of 1300 people and is situated halfway across Australia on the world renowned Eyre Highway, National Highway One.
Kimba Hospital is a 20-bed facility, including eight inpatient beds, eight aged care beds, and two Emergency Department beds. The hospital provides a range of services including emergency, general medicine, post-surgical care, basic x-ray, rehabilitation and palliative care. Our Accident and emergency is a 24- hour service.
