The Role

Are you a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse seeking a rewarding opportunity in the operating theatre environment? Port Lincoln Hospital is looking for passionate individuals to join our team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional surgical care.

As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Theatre Department, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing nursing services at our health service setting. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing nursing care in accordance with best practices and regulatory standards, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout.
  • Continuously developing your knowledge and skills, progressing from novice to proficient practice through ongoing professional development and experience.
  • Accepting accountability for your own standards of nursing care and for activities delegated to others, ensuring the highest quality of patient care at all times.
  • Provide health promotion and education, to patients/clients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individual.

Positions available:

  • Ongoing Part Time (multiple positions available, hours to be negotiated, working over a 6 day roster)
  • Temporary Part Time (multiple positions available, 6 month contract, hours to be negotiated, working over a 6 day roster)

About You

  • You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate
  • You will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing consumer/client and family centred care.

Port Lincoln Hospital a modern 48-bed hospital complete with Special Care unit, Chemotherapy/Renal dialysis Unit and Operating Rooms facilities. There is a wide range of visiting surgeons and the facility provides medical, special care, surgical, obstetric, palliative care and services for children. Situated in a beautiful coastal location, Port Lincoln Hospital is one of four rural general hospitals in South Australia, and has a range of clinical specialties along with a large and stable workforce.
