Join our team as a Stomal Specialist Nurse in Port Lincoln, where you’ll support individuals managing complex stoma, wound care, and related health needs, helping them to live their best lives at home and in the community.
What you’ll do
As a Stomal Specialist Nurse, you’ll provide expert, person-centred care to individuals with faecal and urinary diversions, chronic wounds, and other related health issues. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, and delivering therapeutic interventions to meet individual patient needs
- Educating patients and their families about stoma and wound care management
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care across the community
- Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager with clinical activities, training, and coordination of services
- Contributing to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines
- Leading and mentoring less experienced staff and students in clinical settings

What we’re looking for
- Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post-registration experience and a current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia practising certificate
- Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice, with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
- Strong communication, problem-solving skills, conflict resolution and negoitation skills
- Knowledge of quality improvement systems and contemporary nursing practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
