Exciting Opportunity: Clinical Midwife at Ceduna District Health Services

Are you a skilled and compassionate Midwife ready for a rewarding role in a supportive community? Ceduna District Health Services is looking for a dedicated Clinical Midwife to join our Midwifery Group Practice team. This position offers a chance to provide exceptional, person-centred care in a dynamic clinical environment.

Role Overview:

As a Clinical Midwife, you will:

  • Deliver Expert Care: Provide proficient clinical midwifery care to patients in a defined clinical area, ensuring high standards of person-centred care.
  • Monitor Care Plans: Oversee and monitor patient/client care plans daily to achieve optimal care outcomes.
  • Lead the Team: Supervise the delivery of nursing and midwifery care within your team/unit, ensuring effective and compassionate service.
  • Implement Interventions: Assess clients, select and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions, support programs, and evaluate progress within a multi-disciplinary primary health care setting.
  • Education: Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate, with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.

The Ceduna District Health Services is run by the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network and includes Ceduna Hospital. Ceduna Hospital has 15 inpatient beds and provides services including emergency, surgical, general medicine, birthing, renal dialysis, diagnostic radiology and outpatients. There are also residential aged care services provided within the hospital, at the Kuhlmann Wing and Ceduna Senior Citizens Village. There is also a GP family practice, Community Health services, Allied Health services, and Child, Adolescent and Adult Mental Health services offered on the hospital site.
