In this pivotal position, you will work collaboratively with Midwives within the Ceduna District Health Services, Midwifery Group Practice, providing direct care to maternity clients. Promoting continuity and consistency of care, you will contribute to the implementation of practice changes and service delivery and oversee the provision of midwifery care within the MGP team. Utilising your midwifery skills and knowledge, you will support and work collaboratively with less experienced members of the midwifery team, provide mentoring / support for junior midwives within the midwifery services in a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners. You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You will have at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience, you will be capable of giving leadership and direction to student Midwives and less experienced Registered Midwives. You will use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate midwifery care problems.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
