Join Our Team as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Renal!

Step into a rewarding role where you’ll provide nursing and midwifery services across diverse health service settings, building on your experience and furthering your studies to evolve from a competent to a proficient practitioner. In this position, you’ll take accountability for your practice standards, oversee delegated activities, and play a crucial role in guiding and developing less experienced staff.

Support our Nursing/Midwifery Unit Manager in leading a dedicated team of nurses and midwives within your ward or unit. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by promoting continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other Advanced Nurses and the Unit Manager.

As part of your portfolio, you will assist in implementing practice changes and take on important management responsibilities, including performance management, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation, and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide proficient, person-centered clinical nursing or midwifery care, including individual case management for patients and clients in a designated clinical area.
  • Regularly monitor patient and client care plans to ensure that appropriate care outcomes are achieved daily.
  • Oversee the provision of nursing and midwifery care within your team or unit, ensuring high standards of practice and collaboration among staff.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • At least 3 years of post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Proficient in using computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in line with established standards.
  • Experience in supervising student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses, fostering their development and ensuring high-quality care.

Applicant Information

This is a part time vacancy, working 64 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
