  • Ongoing Full Time or Part Time (hours to be negotiated), over a 7 day roster

Overview

In this pivotal management position, you will provide support to the Nurse Unit Manager in the leadership of nurses within Elmhaven Aged Care – Streaky Bay. Promoting continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other Nurse Unit Managers, you will contribute to the implementation of practice changes and undertake service management responsibilities. These will include performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring. Utilising your nursing skills and knowledge, you will support and work collaboratively with less experienced members of the nursing team.

About you

  • You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife
  • Prior experience of giving supervision to student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
  • Use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems.
  • Ability to be creative, innovative, and flexible when approaching issues with the healthcare setting and be able to prioritise your workload
  • Knowledge of contemporary professional nursing/midwifery and health care issues, and Quality Improve Systems as applied to a health care setting
