About the Role:
A great opportunity to join the team in the Margaret Tobin Centre as a Registered Nurse under Mental Health Services. The Margaret Tobin Centre is a 38 bed mental health inpatient area consisting of an 8 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and two Acute Care Units that can admit a total of 30 consumers. Mental Health consumers can either be admitted in a planned manner through Community Mental Health Services, through an emergency department or via a general medical/surgical pathway.

Some tasks may include:

  • Assess individual patient/client needs, plan, implement and/or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options including other disciplines or agencies.
  • Contribute to procedures for effectively dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours.

About you:

  • Registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
  • Demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
