Using your clinical knowledge and experience, you will provide pivotal coordination of patient care delivery within the Jamestown Hospital across Emergency, Acute and Aged care units. The main focus of your role will be the line management, coordination and leadership of nursing care to achieve continuity and quality of client care. Undertaking a combination of client care, team leadership and resource management, you will coordinate the Hospital’s Quality & Safety Programs to meet service and accreditation standards. You will also provide a direct line report and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships within all members of the health care team. Accountable for the outcomes of nursing practice, you will address inconsistencies between practice and policy and develop team performance and a positive workplace culture in the interest of client outcomes.
Jamestown Hospital 12 beds for people receiving active medical treatment, 12 aged care beds and one respite care bed. We also provide casualty, operating, x-ray, community health, outreach and outpatient services. You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate, and have at least 3 years post registration experience. Demonstrating a broad range of nursing experience and competence in accordance with appropriate standards of practice, you will possess effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. These skills will equip you to foster a work environment that develops staff potential and facilitates creativity and innovation. Demonstrated skills in leading and promoting consumer engagement initiatives will hold you in good stead for this role. It is highly desirable that you will have experience working in an Emergency Department setting.
This is a part time vacancy, working 64 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
