Ready to lead the charge in quality healthcare governance? We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Director Clinical & Care Governance to steer the continued development of safety and quality systems within the Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN). As a key leader, you will ensure the delivery of respectful and reliable healthcare every day, promoting a culture of clinical improvement and innovation across our health units.
You’ll provide expert advice to the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery, managing clinical risk, overseeing the Clinical Governance Framework, and ensuring compliance with national safety standards. Your strategic direction will contribute directly to patient safety, quality care, and improved clinician practice across LCLHN services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team to implement quality, safety, and risk management strategies.
- Provide expert advice on clinical governance to senior leadership.
- Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of clinical information systems to inform decision-making.
- Lead the development and implementation of clinical risk management and safety initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in clinical practice.
- Ensure compliance with national healthcare standards and legislative requirements.
This role is multi-classed at AHP5 or RN/RM5.2 level and classification will be determined by qualifications held.
What We’re Looking For:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with at least 5 years post registration experience; or
- Must hold a degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline which provides eligibility for membership with a relevant professional association. Expected to hold higher qualifications relevant to health care and the role.
- Proven leadership and management experience in clinical governance
- Expertise in analysing complex issues and developing innovative solutions.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated success in leading clinical quality improvement initiatives.
- Ability to navigate a large, complex organisation and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with contemporary management processes and practices in healthcare.
