- Limestone Coast Local Health Network – Millicent & District Hospital and Health Service
- Salary: $36.65 – $50.01 per hour + 25% casual loading – Casual Pool (up to December 2025) – RN/RM1
The Millicent & District Hospital and Health Service is seeking experienced and motivated nurses to join our team on a casual basis.
In this role, you will assist in providing high-quality, acute nursing care to patients within Millicent and surrounding districts, contributing to the health and well-being of the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Acute Nursing Care: Provide professional, high-quality nursing care to individuals, assessing their needs and developing, implementing, and coordinating care plans based on best practice standards.
- Health Education & Rehabilitation: Offer health education, counselling, and rehabilitation programs tailored to improve the health outcomes of individuals or groups within the community.
- Collaborative Care: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of integrated, patient-centred care. You will engage in cooperative and productive relationships with other healthcare professionals and support staff.
- Ongoing Professional Development: Consolidate your nursing skills and knowledge, with opportunities for continuous professional development and experience to enhance your capability and career growth.
- Prioritise and Manage Workloads: Demonstrate excellent time management, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, ensuring the efficient delivery of care within a busy healthcare setting.
What We’re Looking For:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
- Effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads.
- Creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting
- Previous Acute experience desired (but not essential)
About Us
Millicent and District Hospital and Health Service is part of the Limestone Coast Local Health Network and employs over 140 staff across the site to provide the community with access to acute and aged care services which includes but is not limited to:
- Inpatient admissions including paediatric, medical, step down and mental health.
- Outpatient care including infusion and transfusion services
- Surgical services-including day surgery and overnight as required. Surgical specialities offered include general surgery, orthopaedics, endoscopy and gastroscopy, oral and maxillofacial, breast and endocrine, dental and minor procedures.
- A 24-hour, seven day a week Accident and Emergency Department.
- 60 bed residential aged care facility co-located
- Domiciliary midwife program
- Co-located Community Health Service
