- Multiple positions: one Perm F/T & one Temp F/T position available working up to 5/11/2022, over a 7 day roster
Please note: Preference for duel qualification RN and RM, due to the nature of the Unit (maternity and Paediatric) but would consider a suitable applicant with single midwifery qualification.
We are seeking a Registered Midwife/Nurse to undertake a management role in a busy Maternity and Paediatric Unit. Working in a senior clinical capacity across all areas of the Maternity/Paediatric Ward, you will support the Nurse Unit Manager. You will also support junior staff and students to provide high quality care to women, children and their families. This is a great opportunity to work across all aspects of midwifery care in a friendly unit, as part of a multidisciplinary team of GP Obstetricians, Specialist Obstetricians, Paediatricians and Nursing and Midwifery staff. The Unit is a 20 bed Maternity Paediatric Unit in a level 4 hospital with 3 birthing rooms, 6 dedicated paediatric beds, a low level 2 nursery caring for babies from 34 weeks gestation, antenatal and postnatal care with specialist obstetricians and paediatricians, and a domiciliary midwifery service caring for women and their families from across the South East region and Western Victoria.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated clinical and management experience, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses. You will use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team.
More than one full time vacancy available: one vacancy is permanent working full time; and one vacancy is temporary full time working up to 5/11/2022.
