- Salary: $114,560 – $119,682 – Perm F/T – RN/RM3
Using your clinical knowledge and experience, you will provide pivotal coordination of patient care delivery within the Medical Ward at the Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service. The main focus of your role will be the line management, coordination and leadership of nursing and midwifery care to achieve continuity and quality of client care. Undertaking a combination of client care, team leadership and resource management, you will coordinate the Medical Ward’s Quality & Safety Programs to meet service and accreditation standards. As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide a direct line report and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team. Accountable for the outcomes of nursing and midwifery practice in the Medical Ward, you will address inconsistencies between practice and policy and develop team performance and a positive workplace culture in the interest of client outcomes.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. Demonstrating a broad range of nursing experience and competence in accordance with appropriate standards of practice, you will possess effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. These skills will equip you to foster a work environment that develops staff potential and facilitates creativity and innovation. Knowledge of Quality Improvement systems and OHSW&IM legislative responsibilities will be highly regarded.
