- Indicative Total Remuneration: $105,002 – $113,633 p.a. (Pro-rata) – Perm P/T (working 32 hours per week), over a 7 day roster – RN/RM2A
In this pivotal management position, you will support the Nurse Unit Manager in the leadership of nurses within the Emergency Department at Mount Gambier Hospital. Promoting continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other Nurse Unit Managers, you will contribute to the implementation of practice changes and undertake service management responsibilities. These will include performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring. Utilising your nursing skills and knowledge, you will support and work collaboratively with less experienced members of the nursing team. Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service is part of the Lower South East Health Services. We provide acute services ranging from in-hospital care by local general practitioners to specialist surgical, obstetric, paediatric and anaesthetic services delivered by medical consultants. You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With Postgraduate qualifications in Emergency or Critical Care Nursing and prior experience in management and leadership roles, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses. You will use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems.
