As an Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced clinical nursing care, education, consultancy, research, management and mentoring services. With a focus on the care of geriatric patients, you will practice beyond the usual extent of a nurse, operating with an expanded scope of practice, and an advanced degree of autonomy and clinical decision making. You will accept accountability for your nursing practice, professional advice given, delegations of care made and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy.
The Emergency Department service aims to facilitate best practice, continuity and cost effective patient care in collaboration with medical and allied health care professionals. This will result in a contribution to the safe, efficient and best possible care of patients. Mount Gambier, South Australia’s second largest city, is located on the Limestone Coast and has all the services and facilities you would expect from metropolitan living, along with the benefits of country living. Nursing roles in Mount Gambier have much to offer. You can engage in ongoing career development and learning opportunities, have access to an extensive range of clinical support on site, and be part of a professional team environment.
You will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of South Australia and hold a current practising certificate, along with a Master’s degree in Emergency Nursing or an equivalent area of practice. Authorised as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA, you will demonstrated an advanced level of nursing practice in the care and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department. Self-motivated and resourceful, you will have the ability to identify problems and develop and implement strategies for resolution.
The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working including part-time. Applicants are encouraged to discuss the flexible working arrangements for this role.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and compliant immunisation screening.
