Overview

An exciting opportunity is presented to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team at Naracoorte Health Service. Situated in Naracoorte, located on the stunning Limestone Coastal region, you will have the chance to gain experience in a variety of areas. A multi-varied position where you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing direct person-centred nursing/midwifery care and individual case management to patients on a shift-by-shift basis in a defined clinical area with increasing autonomy over time. You will assess individual patient needs, plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. In addition, you will plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs. Practising as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, you will provide with increasing capacity over time, support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing care.

About you

  • You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrating sound knowledge and an understanding of the role of the Registered Nurse/Midwife within a health care setting, you will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • You will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a health care setting, displaying a commitment to providing consumer and family-centred care.
  • Strong communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

About Us

Naracoorte Health Service is part of the Upper South East Health Services and Limestone Coast Local Health Network (LCLHN). Our facility includes 39 public beds, six day surgery beds, two operating theatres, same day and overnight stay, specialist consulting rooms, youth health, plus a residential aged care unit in Moreton Bay House that accommodates 11 State-funded aged care beds and 30 Commonwealth aged care beds.

This is an ongoing full time or part time vacancy, hours to be negotiated over a 7 day roster and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
