About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Enrolled/Registered and Clinical Nurses within NALHN.

This is a unique role where all staff work between the Day Procedure Unit (1 West) and the Extended stay ward (1 East).

Modbury Day Procedure Unit has 20 chairs which operate Monday – Friday 0700 – 2030.

Modbury Extended stay unit has 12 beds with the service open 24 hours over seven days.

There is a high volume of elective procedures through both of the units such as Orthopaedics (including Arthroplasty), Urology, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Breast Endocrine Surgery, Gynaecology, ENT, Ophthalmology and Gastroenterology.

Enrolled Nurse (Certificate and Diploma)

The Enrolled Nurse supports the Registered Nurse/Midwife in the provision of person-centred care consistent with regulatory and statutory requirements. Practice at this level is from novice to proficient Enrolled Nurse practice. Employees at this level work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse/Midwife, however at all times the Enrolled Nurse retains responsibility for his/her actions and remains accountable in providing nursing/midwifery care.

To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as an enrolled nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • In order to administer medicines, must have completed a Board-approved program of study which includes an administration of medicines unit.

Registered Nurse

Employees classified at this level provide nursing and/or midwifery services in health service settings. Employees working within this level develop from novice practitioners to a proficient level of professional practice. They consolidate knowledge and skills and develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience. An employee at this level accepts accountability for his or her own standards of nursing/midwifery care and for activities delegated to others.

To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

Clinical Nurse

Provide nursing and/or midwifery services in a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners. Accepts accountability for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff.

The Clinical Nurse role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however, employees are assigned appropriate portfolios. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities should be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.

To be eligible for this position, you must:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
