About You:

We are seeking dedicated, compassionate and experienced Registered Nurses with experience and skills in emergency or geriatric care to join a dynamic, growing healthcare network where you will be part of a supportive team delivering high quality care to the community. There are multiple positions available, which will rotate through the OPERA service and working within the community, supporting consumers on discharge from OPERA. This team will work closely with our Geriatrics In the Home (GITH) service. This position will be vital in establishing a strong multi-disciplinary team within this new service which will be providing high-quality care in a rapid assessment and planning environment. About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking Nurse Consultant’s to join the new Older Person’s Emergency Referral and Assessment (OPERA) team.

The Older Person’s Emergency Referral and Assessment (OPERA) Service is a multi-disciplinary, geriatrician led service designed to improve access to comprehensive assessment and care planning for older or frail people in the North. OPERA will improve access and flow through the emergency department and hospital system via ED avoidance for in-scope patients and reducing the number of patients admitted to in-hospital beds from RACF and patients aged >65 years or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders >50 years.

As a Nurse Consultant in OPERA, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional care to older persons presenting to the emergency department. Your expertise will be instrumental in conducting comprehensive assessments, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring seamless transitions of care. With your exceptional clinical skills and compassionate approach, you will empower our patients and their families, fostering dignity and autonomy throughout their healthcare journey.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.

Modbury Hospital A general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
