About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking Registered Nurses to join the Adult Community Mental Health service to support individuals and their families impacted by mental health challenges.

Community-based mental health nurses play a vital role in Australia’s healthcare system. With 1 in 5 people experiencing a mental illness in any given year, the demand for mental health support continues to rise. Various socioeconomic factors, such as access to services, living conditions and employment status, can influence someone’s mental health. This impact is not limited to the individual but extends to their families and caregivers. As such, a community mental health nurse’s role is to provide all affected individuals with the support they need. Join our Mental Health Community Team at NALHN to make a difference.

This position will offer you professional growth opportunities within a supportive and inclusive culture. In this key position you will demonstrate your experience and previous success working as a Registered Mental Health Nurse to ensure high quality care is delivered to our consumers.

As a Registered Nurse in our Mental Health Community Team, you will be at the forefront of providing high-quality care and support to people living with mental illness, ensuring they receive holistic, person-centred care in the comfort of their own homes and communities.

In this role you will:

  • Provide direct nursing services to individuals and families affected by mental health issues.
  • Assess, plan and deliver nursing care tailored to the needs of each person and their unique circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, effective, and timely care.
  • Engage with the community to enhance mental health outcomes through education, support and advocacy.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
