  • Salary  RN-3  $114,560/$119,682 p.a.
  • Permanent part-time working 32 hours per week

Employees classified at this level use their clinical knowledge and experience to provide a corporate support service to nursing/midwifery practice, which may include but not be limited to areas such as the provision of a range of education, training, learning experiences and materials, knowledge access systems and expertise to support clinicians undertaking local teaching.

Employees classified at this level accept accountability for the outcomes of nursing/midwifery education practices, for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy; and for contributing to a safe and positive work culture in the interest of patient/client outcomes.

Employees classified at this level ensure the provision of high quality continuing nursing education services aimed at improving nursing staff knowledge, commitment and nursing practice by;

  • Providing and coordinating educational support within the organisation’s professional practice, education and administrative frameworks;
  • Undertaking and overseeing clinical teaching sessions to designated nursing staff in the Emergency Department
  • Organising and facilitating daily in-service in the ED
  • Undertaking and overseeing assessment processes for designated student populations;
  • Contributing to the support of undergraduate and postgraduate students in clinical placements as appropriate;
  • Reviewing, maintaining and marking clinical competency modules and workbooks, primarily using a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Contributes to the maintenance of a database to record nursing staff members development
  • Collaborating with Nurse Unit Managers and Nurse Educators to coordinate teaching and learning processes and achieve planned outcomes;
  • Contributing to the promulgation of information regarding current developments in nursing and midwifery.
  • Maintaining accurate records of training requirements, identifying any shortfalls and addressing the gaps
  • Delivering feedback as part of the performance review and development process

Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
