Registered Nurse – Clinical Research Coordinator
About the Role
The Registered Nurse – Clinical Research Coordinator forms part of a team with the primary purpose to increase rural health research capacity and provide access to clinical trials ‘closer to home’ for patients, regardless of where they live and in particular in Regional, Rural and Remote areas. The team consists of health service staff, Flinders University academics and Uni SA academics.
The Registered Nurse – Clinical Research Coordinator contributes operational and discipline expertise to the development, coordination and implementation of research and administrative strategies that are essential to the successful management of clinical trials conducted within the Australian Teletrial Program. This involves the conduct of a range of independent functions, including, but not limited to:
- scholarly activity,
- coordinating consents and assessments required by clinical trial patients,
- managing the oversight,
- documentation and compilation of clinical research data,
- and providing operational support for the delivery of clinical trial and other research submissions,
- reporting and other approval requests that are required.
This role is employed through RMCLHN, being based in Whyalla/Port Augusta, working closely with the equivalent positions based in Mount Gambier and Berri. The SA Regional Clinical Trial Coordinating Centre (SA RCCC) team is based within the Department for Health and Wellbeing.

This position is managed by The Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network, called RMCLHN for short, supports more than 70,000 people living in country South Australia in the towns and surrounds of Renmark, Paringa, Berri, Barmera, Waikerie, Loxton, Pinnaroo, Lameroo, Karoonda, Mannum, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Meningie, Tintinara and Coonalpyn. Applicant Information
Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Proven experience in working with computerised information systems, preferably within a clinical or medical environment and demonstrated competence in arranging patient visits, and undertaking clinical trial related procedures (ECG, vitals, venepuncture, cannulation, IV and subcutaneous drug administration), and maintaining quality management processes according to ICH/GCP and workplace standards essential.

Part time hours by negotiation, salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
