The Advanced Nurse Manager – Aged Care is responsible to the Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery Services for leading, ensuring processes are in place and monitored to provide high quality safe care for aged care clients in RMCLHN.
Using clinical expertise and contemporary knowledge of SA Health priorities, care planning and documentation, including Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) programs and legislation, the incumbent is required to provide high level strategic leadership, expert analysis of diverse data sources and undertake research in order to develop policies, procedures, plans, structures and projects that impact and improve performance in aged care within RMCLHN.
Employees in this role will provide support services to both Nurse/Midwife Unit Managers and Nursing Directors in nursing/midwifery practice and services in areas including but not limited to staffing methodologies, recruitment and selection, safety and quality care including audits of aged care performance, optimise ACFI revenue, human resource management, financial administration, aged care accreditation and risk management processes and information systems management.
The Advanced Nurse Manager – Aged Care accepts accountability for the outcomes management practices, for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy, and for supporting regional team performance within a positive work culture in the interest of resident/client outcomes. Is responsible for aged care clinical procedures and will provide expert advice to the RMCLHN Executive on matters effecting clinical outcomes in aged care.
Employees in this role apply high level project management and strategic planning skills; provides expert consultancy advice; develops clinical and workforce policy and procedure; and represents the RMCLHN at a range of forums, meetings and consultative groups.
Various practice models may be used to enact this role, including but not limited to:
- Providing management support to aged care facilities within RMCLHN;
- Coordination, leading and/or management of complex projects, programs and/or clinical research of significant scope that contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic directions, policies, goals and objectives that support professional practice demonstratively beyond the usual range
Must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
