Whittaker Ward –
Whittaker Ward has 25-beds at the Noarlunga Hospital and provides hospital-based specialist Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) restorative services to people aged over 65, with geriatric syndromes including patients with dementia or cognitive impairment. Staff support patients with daily activities to help them retain these functions and safely return to community living.
Tobruk –
Tobruk is a 25-bed rehabilitation ward specialising mainly in the rehabilitation of stroke patients and is located at Flinders Medical Centre. The rehabilitation program is dynamic and multi-disciplinary and offers a bridge between a patient’s hospital stay and returning safely to the community.
The Specialist Advanced Dementia Unit (SADU) –
SADU aims to provide a specialist program of treatment for older people living with Dementia who are experiencing behavioural psychological symptoms of dementia. Based at the Repat Health Precinct, SADU provides comprehensive multidisciplinary management to facilitate the patients and support their family to have the best opportunity to return to community living, whether that be home based or within residential care.
Marjorie Tripp –
Marjorie Tripp is a purpose-built 20-bed ward providing specialised care for older people. The ward provides a base for the Older Persons Assessment and Liaison (OPAL) Unit and the Residential Care Outreach Team (RCOT) based at the Flinders Medical Centre. The OPAL service supports older patients who present to the ED and require inpatient treatment. It provides high quality care for vulnerable patients who are living with geriatric syndromes such as dementia or frequent falls. The RCOT team support residents of aged care facilities to return to their supported accommodation, after a short stay in hospital.
About You –
As a Registered Nurse in this pivotal role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional care to patients requiring rehabilitation, aged care, or palliative support. Your expertise and empathetic approach will be instrumental in ensuring their comfort, dignity, and overall well-being throughout their healthcare experience.
To excel in this rewarding position, you must possess a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification, along with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Exceptional interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to continuous learning are essential attributes we value highly.
