Join our Mental Health Team in the Mental health short stay and Emergency Department as a Clinical Nurse!
As a Mental Health Clinical Nurse in the FMC Emergency Department, you’ll provide vital support to patients experiencing mental health crises. Utilizing your exceptional clinical expertise and compassionate approach, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient-centred care. In this pivotal position, you’ll have the opportunity to make a profound impact on the well-being of individuals during their most vulnerable moments.
Comprehensive training for the role of Mental Health Emergency Department Liaison will be provided.
About the role:
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, some of your duties for the role will include:
- Provide proficient, person centred, clinical nursing care clients in ED
- Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience
- Act to resolve local and/or immediate nursing/midwifery care or service delivery problems
- Provide comprehensive & expert assessment & care planning for consumers referred to the Mental Health services of FMC Emergency Department
About you:
- Demonstrated competence in Mental Health nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision
- Experience working with mental health consumers who have complex psychiatric illnesses and
comorbidities
- Experience in development and maintenance of therapeutic working relationships with clients having enduring and severe disability and complex needs, and their carers
To be considered for the RN2C (Clinical Nurse) level you must have at least three years, full time equivalent, post registration experience with experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
