About the role: 

Reporting to the Midwifery Unit Manager SMGP. Duties for this role will include:

  • Assists and supports the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities
  • Participate in clinical teaching, overseeing learning experience, and goal setting for students, new staff and staff with less experience
  • Integrate advanced theoretical knowledge, evidence from a range of sources and own experience to devise and achieve agreed patient/client care outcomes
  • Oversee the provision of nursing/midwifery care within a team/unit

About you:

  • Demonstrated commitment to providing consumer/client and family centred care
  • Demonstrated competency and proficiency in midwifery practice related to antenatal care, labour and delivery, postnatal care, lactation and infant feeding
  • Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the clinical setting
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.

Please note that this position is multi-classed and classification will be determined by qualifications and experience.
