Join FMC’s Oncology Team, delivering comprehensive care for cancer patients in Southern Adelaide.

The Department of Medical Oncology at Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) is seeking dedicated professionals to join their team in providing comprehensive cancer care to patients. The Haematology/ Oncology specialty teams treat patients with solid tumours and blood cancers and are supported by a multidisciplinary group of Allied Health professionals who address both the physical and psychological needs of patients and their carers. About the role: 

As the Registered Nurse/Clinical Nurse, duties for the role may involve:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individual patient/client needs, developing and executing tailored care plans while coordinating service delivery across a range of evidence-based options, including collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
  • Lead and supervise the delivery of high-quality nursing care within a dynamic Oncology team, ensuring best practices are consistently followed.
  • Take proactive steps to address and resolve immediate or local issues related to nursing care and service delivery, ensuring continuous, efficient care provision.
  • Deliver health promotion and educational initiatives to patients, clients, groups, and caregivers, empowering them with knowledge to enhance health outcomes.
  • Provide expert review and guidance on clinical decisions, assessments, and recommendations made by less experienced Registered Nurses/Midwives, Enrolled Nurses, and students, fostering their professional development and ensuring quality standards are met.

About you:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate,
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards,
  • Previous experience in an acute setting,
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision,
  • Proven experience in basic computing skills, including email and word processing.
  • (RN2C) Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
