About the role:
Reporting to the Team Manager, some of your duties for the role will include:
- Providing health education, counselling and/or therapeutic/rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual clients or groups.
- Providing consultation and occupational therapy knowledge to meet the mental health care needs of the consumers in the integrated team.
- Providing discipline-specific consultation and assistance to the integrated mental health team to meet the mental health care needs of youth.
- Implementing individual, family and/or other group therapies and other specific programs using a range of models and skills.
- Participating in communication forums with staff, youth, their families and carers.
About you:
- Demonstrated competency and proficiency in clinical skills appropriate to the area (individual counselling skills and group work skills including planning and preparing psycho educational, therapy group programs)
- Core social work skills including psychosocial assessment, counselling, individual and group work, relationship and family therapy, crisis intervention and brief therapy
- Competent in applying cognitive, behavioural and other evidence-based treatment methodologies
- Competent in the provision of a range of occupational therapy assessments evidence-based therapeutic interventions and skills including individual, family and group work
Qualifications Specification:
- To be appointed as a Clinical Nurse you must be registered as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current practicing certificate. Additionally, must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
- To be appointed as a Social worker you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- To be appointed as an Occupational Therapist you must hold an appropriate degree or equivalent qualifications which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- To be appointed Clinical Psychologist you must hold appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
This is a single vacancy, with multiple possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
