Yorke and Northern Local Health Network have permanent and temporary part time contracts for Registered Nurses wishing to work within the Renal Services at Clare Hospital and Maitland Hospital.

Renal services offered at each hospital are supported by renal medical specialists and offer services to clients located in both the Mid-North and Yorke Peninsula communities.

You will contribute to the delivery of professional, high quality patient care within the Renal Dialysis Unit at Clare and Maitland Hospital. Assessing individual patient needs, you will plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options. You will also provide health education, counselling and rehabilitation programs to improve the health outcomes of individual patients or groups. It is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced staff, Enrolled Nurses, student nurses and other workers providing basic nursing or midwifery care. Consolidating your knowledge and skills, you will develop in capability through continuous professional development and experience and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team

Opportunities are also available for Registered Nurses employed in this role to expand and consolidate on additional skills within additional services at each hospital.


Clare Hospital

Located 150 kilometres from Adelaide in the beautiful mid-north. Clare Hospital is a 23-bed acute hospital. Services offered include 24-hours accident and emergency, acute and general medical services, renal, chemotherapy, medical imaging, surgical services, obstetric and maternity care, palliative care and outpatient clinics.

Maitland Hospital

Located 173 kilometres from Adelaide on the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, Maitland Hospital is a 16-bed acute and 12 bed aged care hospital. Services offered include 24-hours accident and emergency, acute and general medical services, renal and transitional care program.

Maitland is the main service and shopping town for this productive agricultural area on the Yorke Peninsula, boasting some of the best barley country in Australia. It is also near some of the best beaches, coastline, fishing and holiday destinations. It is a great place to live and work, offering a wide range of lifestyles.

Maitland Hospital has four renal chairs which currently operate two sessions per day, three days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and is seeking:

Registered Nurse: Permanent P/T, 0.42 FTE (16 hours per week) Commencing ASAP
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. You must have renal experience. With demonstrated competence in person-centred nursing and midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. You will work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and be capable of prioritising workloads, demonstrating your ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a country health setting.
