Working in a Midwifery Group Practice Model of Care Pilot programme, you will provide direct woman-centred nursing/midwifery care and individual case management to women and families in the Yorke & Northern region. You will assess individual women’s needs and plan, implement or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options, including other disciplines or agencies. Working as a Registered Midwife across all midwifery scope of practice within a midwifery team environment, you will be caring for children, youth, women and their families where there are multiple complexities and diverse cultural backgrounds. As part of your role, you will also provide supervision to student Midwives. This model of care works over five birthing sites in the Yorke & Northern Region – Wallaroo, Clare, Jamestown, Port Pirie and Crystal Brook. In Yorke & Northern, we have established the continuity of care practice as standard. Dedicated to caseload midwifery, we will empower you to deliver the best possible care, with more hands-on involvement. Knowing that midwifery with Yorke & Northern is more than help with birthing, you will be able to go on a journey of care together with the women in your community.

You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With demonstrated competence in midwifery practice in accordance with the appropriate standards, you will have effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a team and prioritise workload, you will be creative, innovative and flexible in your approach to midwifery.

This is a part time vacancy, hours to be negotiated and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked. More than one part time vacancy available.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Screening/Check and specific immunisation requirements.
